We spent the last two days at the Creation Museum in Bullittsville, KY just outside of Cincinnati. There was enough to see to keep us busy the entire time we were there, but we did get to see it all. Michaela, Rebekah, Ron and I really enjoyed everything about the museum. Much of the main exhibit was over the younger one's heads, but there were some things that they liked as well (like the petting zoo and the dinosaur exhibit).
The focus of the museum is presenting history and science from a biblical perspective. It was pointed out that as we look at the facts, i.e. fossils, canyons, rock layers, etc. we all have the same evidence. However, we intrepret that evidence based on our beliefs. One may say that the Grand Canyon was formed slowly over millions of years. Yet, another option is that it could have been formed quickly due to a major catastrophic event, like the canyons that formed in a matter of days when Mt. St. Helens erupted. This was the starting point of the museum before we looked at anything else.
Alaina and fossilized dinosaur eggs. How old are they?
We can only make an educated guess.
The main exhibit is a walk through history from the time of Creation to Christ. We walked through the Garden of Eden, saw Adam and Eve being deceived by the serpent and choosing to go their own way, moved into an area depicting the consequences of that sin, saw how God judged the people with a worldwide flood and then dispersed the people by confusing their language at the tower of Babel, and ultimately how God provided a way for us to have a restored relationship with him by trusting in Christ's death on the cross before He returns again for the final judgement.

if God created all the land animals on the 6th day.

The purpose of the exhibits is to provide solid, scientific explanations for many of the questions that people have regarding the validity of the Bible's account of history. One example is Noah's ark. Seeing the enormity of the ark, helps one to see how two of every kind of animal could realistically fit on the ark.

In addition to the main exhibit, the museum also has a petting zoo, beautiful gardens, various movies (one being an interactive movie where you felt actual wind and water on your face) and a planetariam. The shows in the planetarium were fascinating. One discussed the scale of heavenly bodies and how big earth is in relation to them. We learned that Betelgeuse, a star in the constellation Orion, is so large that if it replaced our sun, our current orbit of the earth would be engulfed by the star! And they told us this after they gave us some perspective on just how far away we are from the sun.
The gardens at the museum were beautiful.

These llama, alpaca cross breeds were two of
my favorite animals in the petting zoo.
The girls were able to feed the animals in the zoo.
Before leaving, we were able to talk with Ken Ham, the founder of
Answers in Genesis, the organization that built the Creation Museum.
