Friday we went to Thanksgiving Point and toured the gardens. The children's garden was almost like an outdoor children's museum. There was a large Noah's ark water play area, a maze, rocks to climb on, a creek with floats provided so you could watch them go down the creek, and a cave to explore among other things. Our girls were delighted!

Michaela found a nice shady spot!

After lunch at our car, we then went to the main gardens. I wondered ahead of time if the girls would complain since we did the children's garden first but they did not (I think feeding them first helped). We had an enjoyable walk through beautiful landscapes. There was a koi pond where we fed the fish and a huge waterfall that the trail eventually went up and over.

They are exactly one year apart in age.
Saturday was catch up day. We did some shopping and laundry but we also spent some time at a wonderful indoor pool. After spending the entire day in the sun on Friday, we realized we were not as prepared as we needed to be and sun hats moved right up to the top of our shopping needs!

Murray Park Indoor Pool was loaded with fun at an affordable price! It was the perfect size for our family and we enjoyed their relaxed environment about age rules. Even the youngest ones were able to enjoy the water slide.

Annaleigh was so tired, she slept the entire time we were at the pool.

Wow, looks like you are having spectacular weather and seeing some great places and having fun. You aren't missing a thing here - still cloudy and rainy with some afternoon sunbreaks. Definitely not ready to do any lake swimming yet.
ReplyDeleteKeri and Ron, Check with the highway department before you head this way on Friday. Two levees in Northwest Missouri were breached yesterday and I-29 is down to one lane because of flood waters. You might have to go south into Kansas when you turn south and come across on Highway 36.
